so my divorce is assured. He wants to live here forever I cant stand this soul sucking place. I want to find a place closer to schools and colleges so my children have a chance at a good education. (no kids yet) I have found a new city I like. I haven't dated in a long time. I also am very shy and its hard for me to make new friends. I don't like the bar seen for anything more than playing pool with friends and not drinking. Maybe a little karaoke. Do you know any places to meet people that a shy person like me can just relax and flirt and have fun?

Join a single group in your town. San Diego has quite a few, great place to socializye not necessarily to date. Also check out Meetup.com for meetings of topics you are interested in.

For a shy person, especiallly a girl, the best place for dating is online. Just be safe (better safe than sorry), when you give out a number use a cell phone (not traceable), when you meet someone, meet in a public place.

I'm separated and I'm in the same boat you are. I'm going to any places with lots of people: bars, beer expo, music festival,etc. I'm just going out there and meeting people and being entirely relaxed. I just smile and start talking to them and if we make a connection, great, if not, that's cool also. I'm going to enjoy life.
