Did you ever "had to break up" with your S/O because it was the right thing to do even though you still loved him/her but because you had diffrent goals in life and didn't want to stand in the way of theirs? I don't want kids and he does... so I have to break up with him..

I did, but it was a differet reason than yours. I did it for my children thinking at the time I was being responsible. I've regretted it all my life.

I wouldn't say I broke up with my s/o but I did date a guy and did not persue it any further because he wanted child ( he has none) and I didn't want anymore ( I have one). I can't stop thinking about him but I know it is for the best because it really wouldn't be fair for me to get into a relationship with him knowing that I was not going to give him the child that he wanted. So I let him go , he is with someone else now and it hurts but through it all I know I did the right thing by letting him go.

yes and in that situation its only fair.. i am like you I dont want kids and that has never changed , if he does he has that right but at least you are smart enough to discuss it before hand.. love is not enough, sometimes for whatever reason its not the right fit.. you are smart enough to figure that out now.

Yes, I am in the process of breaking off a relationship with someone I love.
It is SO painful and the thought of lonliness is scary, but the relationship was just too sick and he would never make moves to help the relationship heal.
For you? I can understand your desire for children. My children have been a source of great joy.
