A Creative (Female, New York, 18-21, Student) asked:

You think you've already met the person you're going to marry, even if you've never dated them before, but maybe you're friends, or were once friends and drifted apart?

Not someone that you met once at a party and haven't spoken to since. Someone you actually know.

I knew her well, twenty years ago, and felt right from the start, I would marry her.
Instead, I moved away, and we lost contact-- she didn't bother responding when I wrote to her.
We met back up after fourteen years, and it was like we should've never been apart. Too bad, the window is closed now.
She just celebrated her one-year wedding anniversary to another guy-- her second marriage.

The best relationships almost always start out as friends. Even if they don't, the only way for them to be successful is to become friends. You will eventually have to talk and communicate with each other. How can you do that when you haven't learn to be friends first?
