A Trendsetter (Female, 22-25, Administrative) asked:

I was at the drug store and they highly recommended YASMIN birth control pills. Yasmin has a lower level of estrogen which reduces side effects however maintains effectiveness.

Has anyone used Yasmin birth control pills. What are your comments?

Update: October 17, 2006.
ok maybe my question was phrased wrong thats why im getting all these unhelpful answers. I am considering going on the pill...been doing a lot of research online about different brands, ect. It was recommended that i go visit the doc and after a check up he will prescribe something. i do however have fears for weight gain, excessive hair growth, future fertility etc. However yesterday i visited a local pharmacy and the pharmacist told me visting the doc wasnt so necessary but she recommended YASMIN birth control pills. i did come home and looked it up further on the site. So basically i just wanted to know about other peoples experiences / comments etc. (Why is every1 so harsh this morning)!!!

If you go to the website by Dr. Mercola, you will see a blog about a woman who did have trouble with Yasmin pills. Please do more research.

I know exactly what you are asking, I have been on Yasmin for 7 months.i switched to them bcuz I was on the depo shot..The depo shot made me bleed 3 months straight.NOT COOL!
Yasmin is verry effective as long as you take them everyday. They are in a four week package (3 weeks of activepills and 1 week of inactive pills...when u take the inactive [nonhormonal] pills you are supposed to get your period, which could happen anytime during that week. The non hormonal pills are just sugar pills or reminders so i personally dont take them.
I have never had any problems with Yasmin. The only thing is if you get on antibiotics for anything, it decreases effectiveness of the pills, so u will need a back up birth control plan. As if you were on any other birth control (shot pill implant)

I personally would recomend the pill if you are somebody who will remember them everyday!
