A Thinker (Female, 36-45, Who Cares?) asked:

I have to buy an anniversary gift for good friends of mine...they also took my oldest daughter in this summer. I was thinking of a gift certificate and maybe a bottle of wine...any other suggestions? Ideas on an appropriate dollar amount?

Oh, that sounds great! What about a nice week-end by the beach or whatever's nice and close like 100 miles away?

Online there are some really cool gift baskets with wine and cheese and crackers and things. I think those are always lovely gifts. Try going to g00gle and typing gift baskets. There are lots of sites to choose from.

Depends on the anniversay number and who they are. I personally think that if you are good friends, you will know something quite appropriate for them as a couple. I am assuming that the "value" you place on it is from the value of your friendship and the fact that they took you oldest daughter into their home for the summer. That is worth something quite appreciative in my opinion and beyond a gift certificate unless it is to a favorite furnishings store perhaps for something very nice for their home.
