If you can afford it, go to a diet place and sign up on a program. One where they monitor your eating habits, weigh you weekly, and advise you on your life style. They tend to get better results than the do it yourself diets.

A combination of both with some added strict discipline is the best way.

First of all, good luck. Diets really depend on the person and how much weight you would like to lose. I find that when I need to do a little weight-management, I really hate giving up foods I love, so I would rather have smaller portions but keep eating chocolate. Some people prefer larger meals of healthier foods. Either way, the important thing is simply eat fewer calories and try to eat healthier. You don't need to do Atkins...just make some small changes and you will see improvement. For instance, if you drink two Cokes a day, switch one of those to water...start small - it will start working. Also, as you eat healthier and smaller portions, your body will need less food. As for workouts, I personally hate them, but I ended up loving pilates...I bought the Windsor Pilates tapes and literally within a week I lost an inch off my waist. They are low-impact and fun, and I had great results. I hope this all helps!

The best thing is to eat right, control portions and exercise for atleast 20 minutes a day mixing cardio and strength training. any quick fixes will just make you gain the weight back and then some

I started my diet last week, and its an Idea Ive come up with myself. It might sound dorky but it works, and im not telling ppl about it anyway.

I have a list; with a line for every day and at the end of the line there is a star. If I both eat right (every 3rd hour, small portions (to keep metabolism up) and slow eating so that i stop when I'm not hungry anymore)) with least amount of carbs (you can get carbs from veggies) + go training once a day, I "get" a star. I also have an additional list that I tick in the middle of the day to tell my self how i have been doing and if I still have a chance to get a star.

I've written that 6 stars will make me loose 1kg and I know my body so I think thats about right. My goal is to loose 4kg with least loss of muscle. And what is my primary goal to loosing 4kg? To look really defined in a lingerie-set for when my bf comes back after 4 months without seeing him.

So what you need is to divide you goal into small sections. It's much eazier this way, and getting happy for every small step you take, you wont give up. Its a very good way If you feel like you dont have much patience.

You can DO IT!
