how do i check my gf for breast cancer? and no i dont mean this as a joke or anything, she has very large breasts and i know that women with large breasts r more likely to develop breast cancer and she is poor so getting her to the doc on a regular basis is not easy so any help would be gr8? and if anyone knows how i can check myself for testicular cancer cuz ive been having pains in my balls and wen i was 1 i almost got cancer there if anyone knows how to examine them that would be gr8 to?

Breast cancer will be a lump that's hard, like a pearl. There is breast tissue that feels like a lump, but it's softer than a pearl.

Also, Planned Parenthood and other medical offices have pamphlets that tell how to do a breast exam.

Large breasts are not more likely to develope cancer,that another medical ploy to feed discrimination,its more likely that it will go undetected because they are large.Just feel around for lumps that dont move.If its close to period or ovulation time it isnt unusual to find lumps that werent there before.Its hormonal.There is also something where women have naturally lumpy breasts,this will sometimes go away after having a baby.there are web sites explaining breast self exams.

I'm not a guy... BUT... As for your girlfriend, she would probably be better at checking herself (no offense, she just knows her body better than a non-professional, and what is abnormal for someone else may be completely normal for her). Tell her to go to breastcancer dot org, and under "symptoms and diagnosis" there is a link for breast self-exam.

To check for breast cancer can be tricky....perhaps ust massage them thoroughly yet gently all around the front edges/side.....you might need to do it for a while to check properly and be sure.

As for checking yourself....i'll write it in steps to make it easier...

1. Have a shower to relax the skin of the scrotum, then do the 'test'
2. roll each testicle btween your thumb and fingers to feel for any lumps, swelling, or changes in firmness. (they should feel warm and the surface smooth)
3. Then check the [epididymis] (the soft tube at the back of the testicles) for any swelling.

you're done. Just remember that it IS normal for one testicle to be bigger than the other. If you notice any changes, contact your GP immediately.

That is a good question. Some really large percentage of breast cancer is discovered first by husbands or lovers. Just be careful to notice if there are any small harder lumps that don't feel "right."

There are usually places where she can get free screening done. Making a few local phone calls would find one.
