A neighbor just called to tell me that a car took out my mail box and is sitting in the ditch in front of my house.
I have, well I guess HAD, one of those $500 security mail boxes to keep my ex from messing with my mail.
Will their car insurance have to pay to replace it?
I know my home owners insurance would cover it, but it would be the same as my deductable.
The car is no longer there. I hope they reported it to the police.
Update: January 23, 2008. Just called the County Seriff's office. There WAS a deputy at the scene, so there WILL be a report... after he finished the next accident he is on his way to. That 8 inches of snow we got yesterday has left a lot of slick spots around the county.
The biggest pain about this will be that I won't be able to put in a new box until Spring. And our little podunk post office is only open from 9 to 11 and 1 to 3, Monday through Friday, so I'll have to take off work in the middle of the day to drive the ten miles to get my mail for the rest of the Winter.
